Named in Brignull's deceptive.design taxonomy, confirmshaming is manipulation by social-emotional cost: the same trick as the street fundraiser who asks "so you don't care about children?" India's CCPA Guidelines (2023) list "Confirm shaming" among the 13 named dark patterns, making the insult-as-opt-out a regulatory matter, not just bad manners.
